Federal Ministry of the Interior of Germany
Dr. Eckart Brauer is a civil servant in the Federal Ministry of the Interior of Germany. As a senior officer he is responsible for biometrics strategy and document security in the domestic, EU and international context.
Within that function Dr. Brauer is a Member of the committee pursuant to EU Regulation 1683/95 laying down a uniform format for visas, passports and residence permits (known as Article 6 Committee). Furthermore Dr. Brauer is a Member of the ICAO Technical Advisory Group on Machine Readable Travel Documents (TAG MRTD). In addition Dr. Brauer is Member and 2008 Chairperson of the ICAO Public Key Directory Board (PKD Board).
Dr. Brauer has 16 years of professional experience in the Federal Ministry of the Interior, the Federal Office for Information Security and the Martin Luther University (Halle / Germany). From that university he received a doctor's degree in experimental physics.
