ePassports EAC Conformity & Interoperability Tests
Prague, September 7th - 12th 2008

Practical view to ePassport Conformity Tests

Almost three years after the first release of the ePassport Conformity Test Plan, the idea of improving interoperability by have a conformance test has been proven to be very effective and useful in many public test events as well as in the daily work of several test laboratories across Europe.

The experience from this work shows many already solved challenges for interoperability in both international and European (EAC protected) systems and new challenges which occur with large data groups and the use of the ISO/IEC 7816 extended length feature.

In addition to the approved test plan for ePassports the implementation of the conformity tests for reading systems is right on its way and already shows interesting new aspects of interoperability for future border control systems.
