Since Nov 1, 2007, Germany enrols high quality fingerprints in 5.400 municipality offices and stores them in the e-passport. The presentation reports on the milestones of this massive project (legal and technical), the hardware and software certification scheme in place, the pilot projects launched before the introduction of the fingerprints and the quality level of the biometric features achieved so far.
